KARACHI, March 27: In future cases of registration of privately managed educational institutions, up to Class XII, in the city will be processed by the Sindh education department only, according to a senior official.

The official said that a committee had also been notified for the inspection and registration of private educational institutions for Karachi region on Saturday.

All applications for new registration or renewal of registration would be received at the office of the director (private schools), Sindh education department, the official added.

The committee in question will inspect the institutions and submit its recommendations to the department regarding the registration of educational institutions in the private sector.

The inspection and registration committee comprised the following: Chairman-Dr Mehboob A Shaikh, the additional secretary (academic and training), members- Prof Mohammad Asghar, District Officer (Colleges), Prof Mudassar Kamal, Principal of Premier College, Riaz Ahmad Zia, head master of Government Boys Secondary School, Nazimabad, Prof Mohammad Yasin Shaikh.

The director of private schools, Khalilur Rehman Daudpota will act as coordinator and secretary of the committee.
