All-round display by Zaka

LAHORE, March 24: A fine all-round performance by skipper Zaka Ahmed helped Pakistan beat India by nine wickets in the first match of the five matches series for deaf at the Qadhafi Stadium on Thursday.

Set 194 for victory, Zaka scored an unbeaten 114 hitting 10 boundaries and three sixes as Pakistan overhauled the target for the loss of only Iqbal Butt (32) in 29 overs.

Zaka and Iqbal made 113 runs in the opening stand. Bilal Aslam (34) was the other undefeated batsman.

Earlier, Zaka with his off-spin bowling snared three wickets for 24 as the Indians scored 193 for nine in the allotted 45 overs.

Captain Inderveet Yadav remained top scorer with 59 (seven fours, one six, 80 balls).
