KARACHI, March 22: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad on Tuesday asked the revenue department to hand over the land of Scheme-33, by March 31 to the city government.

He issued this directive in a meeting held here at the Governor?s House to review the revival of the Scheme-33, which had been pending since long. The meeting was attended among others by City Nazim Niamatullah Khan, secretaries of cooperative societies and land utilization, Station Commander of Malir Cantonment and officials of the Scheme-33 Gulzar-i-Hijri.

Dr Ibad said that administrative dispute of various departments should not result in the delay of vital schemes.

The meeting decided that all encroachments over the scheme land would be removed by April 25. For this purpose, the police along with all the anti-encroachment staff of all the towns would launch a joint operation.

Earlier, Additional Chief Secretary (Local Bodies) Saleem Khan briefed the governor on the progress regarding revival of the scheme.

The governor asked that all phases of the scheme be completed as per schedule.

Dr Ibad said that to monitor the implementation of decisions taken in this meeting another meeting would be held at the same venue next month. ?PPI
