NOWSHERA, March 9: Students of the Nowshera Postgraduate College boycotted classes and staged a rally on Wednesday in protest against the Kalabagh dam project.

The students blocked the GT Road and marched from the college to Shobra Chowk, where they held a protest meeting.

The protesters carrying placards and banners chanted slogans against the construction of the dam. They raised slogans against President Gen Pervez Musharraf, Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao and District Nazim Pervez Khattak.

Student leaders, speaking to the protesters, termed the project a conspiracy against the country. They said that the Pukhtun nationalists would never allow construction of the dam.
