ISLAMABAD, March 3: Pakistan's title-aspirant Shahid Zaman toppled defending champion Adrian Grant on Thursday and will now take on another Englishman Joey Barrington in the final on Friday.

Shahid emerged with flying colours from a gruelling 59- minutes clash against top seed Grant of England in the day's first semi-final. Seeded No.3 in the tournament Shahid, executed a flurry of crisp cross-court and drop shots to win against Englishman in five games 11-8, 4-11, 9-11, 11-7, 11-5.

He will now face another giant-killer, Barrington, who surprisingly took just 12 minutes to dispose of the tournament No.4 seed Pakistani, Mansoor Zaman, in the second semi-final 11-2, 11-9, 11-5.

Earlier, in his quarterfinal of this Chief of Army Staff Squash Championship, Barrington had pulled off an upset when he knocked out the tournament seed No.2 and world No.17 Azlan Iskander of Malaysia in 47 minutes 3-2.

The title clash between Shahid Zaman and Barrington will now roll off at Mushaf Squash Complex, situated within Pakistan Sports Complex, at 3.45pm. on Friday.
