SIALKOT: Robbers kill labourer

SIALKOT, March 3: A labourer was shot dead and an ASI of Pasrur police was injured seriously by bandits on offering resistance in separate incidents in the district on Thursday.

The labourer, Muhammad Amjad, was returning home from work when he was stopped by some bandits, near Chawinda-Klaaswala, Pasrur tehsil, who were looting the people. As he offered resistance to the bandits, they shot and killed him on the spot.

The bandits fled away firing in the air. Pasrur Saddar police have registered a case with no arrests. Meanwhile, on main Sialkot-Pasrur road near Kala Pahaarung village, some unknown armed robbers, engaged in looting villagers stopped ASI Ashraf Bajwa, who was going to present record of a case in the Lahore High Court in a car.

As the ASI offered resistance, the robbers opened fire, injuring him seriously. They fled away firing in the air. The injured ASI was admitted into the Allama Iqbal DHQ Hospital in a critical condition. Pasrur Saddar police have registered a case with no arrests.

KILLED: In Bhollawala village, Head Marala, a farmer, Faqeer Saeen, was killed by his brother Bashir Ahmad over a property dispute.

LOOTED: Three unidentified armed bandits snatched a motorcycle (STL-7057) at gunpoint from one Asmat Ullah Virk, an employee of a courier service, near Dheedowali village, when he was going back to his home in Maallo Mahey village on main Daska-Pasrur road.

Police have registered a case with no arrest or recovery. In Uggoki, three dacoits snatched Rs16,000 and a mobile phone at gunpoint from a trader, Mansoor Butt, while in Munowal, Kotli Loharan, two unknown armed men snatched Rs20,000 and a mobile phone at gunpoint from Shakeel Asghar and Kamran.

KIDNAPPED: In Sialkot city, seven armed people kidnapped an exporter, Muhammad Amjad, when he refused to pay them Rs200,000 as protection money. The kidnappers tortured Amjad severely and threw him in an open area in critical condition. He was admitted into a hospital. Police have registered a case against the seven accused, with no arrests.
