QUETTA, Feb 27: At least three people, including a woman, were killed and five others injured as heavy rains lashed Quetta and many other parts of Northern Balochistan on Sunday.

The woman, Tahira Bibi, was killed when the ceiling of her house collapsed in the Chashma Achozai village. In another incident, an 18-year-old boy, Shah Zaman, slipped and drowned in a pool of rainwater had accumulated.

In yet another incident, a passenger was killed and three others injured when a bus skidded and overturned at the Lucky Pass due to the road being slippery and wet.

The injured were admitted at the Civil Hospital Quetta. Two more injured, Shahzad Khan and Sultana Bibi, were also admitted there as a result of being injured due to the wall of their house collapsing in Nwan Killi.

In Pishin, Qila Abdullah and Qila Saifullah districts dozens of houses collapsed and many others were damaged as a result of continuous rains. Many areas of these districts were cut off from the district headquarters and other areas of the province as a result of roads being damaged and blocked due to heavy rainfall and snowfall.
