Chinese team visits EPB

KARACHI, Feb 22: A 15-member Chinese trade delegation on Tuesday visited the display centre of Export Promotion Bureau and appreciated the quality of Pakistani goods.

The visiting delegation, which was headed by Chinese Assistant Minister for Commerce Yi Xiaozhun, showed keen interest in Pakistani products especially leather, marble and textile goods.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Xiaozhun said that it was a preparatory and a ground-levelling visit for the upcoming visit of Chinese premier to Pakistan likely in April or May this year.

Meanwhile, another delegation of the World intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) led by director general Ms Liew Woon Yin also visited the EPB and held meeting with the senior officers of the bureau.

The two sides discussed the creation of WTO/IPR institute at Pakistan, books and print material relating to the WIPO, IT researching, holding of refresher courses for concerned officials as well as the stakeholders and launching of a series of workshops and seminars for public awareness of IPR. -APP
