Asian giants clash on opening day

LAHORE, Feb 21: Pakistan will face Japan while India clash with South Africa on the opening day of four-nation U-21 invitational hockey tournament to be held at the National Hockey Stadium on March 7-13.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) released the draws of the tournament on Monday after getting approval of International Hockey Federation (FIH). After playing a match against each other all the teams will qualify for the semi-finals to be held on March 12. The final and the third position matches will be played on March 13.

DRAWS:

March 7: India v South Africa 1pm; Pakistan v Japan 3pm.

March 8: South Africa v Japan 1pm; Pakistan v India 3pm.

March 9: Rest Day.

March 10: Pakistan v South Africa 1pm; India v Japan 3pm.

March 11: Rest Day.

March 12: 1st semi-final 12.30pm; 2nd semi-final 3pm.

March 13: 3rd and 4th place match 12noon; 1st and 2nd (Final) 3pm.
