KARACHI: Boy crushed to death

KARACHI, May 29: A minor boy died in a traffic accident in Manghopir area on Wednesday.

Police said four-year-old Sanawal Khan was playing outside his house in New Mianwali Colony when a speeding water tanker (CL-2024) crushed him to death.

Police claimed to have arrested the driver, Shahzad, and impounded the vehicle.

The body was sent to the Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.

DIES: A teenaged boy died of burn wounds in Al-Falah on Wednesday.

Police said Shahid Ali, aged 18, a drug addict, was busy in consuming an addictive substance in the bushes in Juma Goth. Suddenly, the surrounding bushes caught fire and Shahid suffered burn wounds.

The victim was rescued by the passers-by and was taken to the Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

SUICIDE: A middle-aged man, who had consumed some poisonous substance in Korangi a few days ago, died at the JPMC on Wednesday.
