Azhar for expanding accountability

Published February 19, 2005

LAHORE, Feb 18: Former Muslim League president Mian Azhar has stressed the need to expand and streamline the process of accountability for safeguarding country's integrity and promoting democratic system.

He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of traders and PML workers from Township, Shahdara, Montgomery Road and Lytton Road here at his residence on Friday.

Mian Azhar said the process of removal on corruption charges should not be limited to ministers of one province and vested interests behind this menace be dealt with severely who were making the country politically and ethically weak.

He asked the rulers to save the country from danger of anarchy and ensure early restoration of a representative government. Flaying the rulers, he said due price hike, unemployment and poor law and order, they were losing their credibility and the day was not far when they would be ousted from power. -PPI
