PESHAWAR, Feb 17: An organisation, Basic Education for Afghan Refugees, has planned to launch fresh adult literacy courses and vocational skill training in Baffa and Swabi.

The 21 courses launched in Attock (district Punjab),Swabi ,Baffa (Mansehra district) had been completed successfully, claimed a press release issued here on Thursday.

The organisation had identified locations for these courses in coordination with local nazims and representatives from the areas concerned. Around 347 people, including 297 women, participated in the adult literacy courses. They were trained in reading, writing and simple calculations during the five-month.

The courses would also help them develop their community and family, the press release said. Vocational centres established at Attock and Baffa were imparting training to 45 women in tailoring and embroidery.

After the completion of the five-month training programme, free-of-cost sewing machines and relevant tool kits would be provided to them, the press release said.
