Eight killed in ambush

QUETTA, Feb 16: Eight persons, including a tehsil nazim and a naib nazim, were gunned down by in an ambush at the Sibi-Jacobabad section of the National Highway on Wednesday.

"The nazim, the naib nazim and their six guards died on the spot while another two were seriously injured," District Police officer Sibi Gul Mohammad Sasuli told reporters.

Nazim Arbab Wali Mohammad and Naib Nazim Allah Rakha Kalwar of Tehsil Bhag Aeri, along with their guards, were on their way from Manjho-Shori to Bhag in their official vehicle. When they reached Sharkal area around 6:30pm unknown armed men opened fire with automatic weapons.

As a result of the firing the eight people, including the nazim and the naib nazim, were killed while a councillor and a driver were injured.
