KOHAT, Feb 4: Dr Ishitiaq Marwat, Senior Superintendent of Police has said that Kohat police had taken extra- ordinary measures to ensure peace during Muharram and called for deploying additional force from other districts at all sensitive places.

Presiding over a meeting of Ahl-i-Sunnat wal Jamaat in his office on Friday he called upon ulema to observe tolerance and respect the religious sentiments of each other during Muharram which will help the government to foil the nefarious designs of the terrorists who want to destabilise the country.

Kohat has been declared a sensitive district where the authorities have finalised security arrangements for Muharram. He said that in the changing world environment it had become the responsibility of every citizen to keep an eye on the disturbing elements in the society who wanted to take advantage of the political situation. He said that Kohat police had taken extra- ordinary measures to ensure peace during Muharram.
