QUETTA, Feb 2: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Muhammad Yousuf has announced that 1,100 posts will be created to accommodate jobless engineers and agriculture graduates and that vacant posts would be filled through the Public Service Commission.

Talking to a delegation of unemployed engineers and agriculture graduates on Wednesday, the chief minister said that all departmental heads had been directed to advertise all vacancies in their departments so that the recruitment procedure in all departments was extremely transparent.

He said the posts created were: 317 for agriculture graduates, 200 mechanical engineers, 50 agriculture engineers and 50 civil engineers. Besides, 514 posts would be advertised in watercourse management programme to accommodate agriculture graduates and engineers.

The chief minister said locals would be given jobs in Gwadar and other development projects. He further said that the provincial government would not only press the federal government to ensure complete implementation of Balochistan's quota in federal services but also try to enhance the percentage of Balochistan's seats in federal services.

He said PML chief Chaudhary Shujjat Hussain, who is chairman of parliamentary committee to resolve Balochistan issue, had held out an assurance that the package would include provision of jobs to unemployed youths of the province.

He claimed that the provincial government had successfully resolved the problem of unemployed doctors by providing them jobs. Similarly, he said, the agriculture graduates and engineers would also get jobs soon.

The chief minister expressed deep concern over acts of sabotage taking place in different parts of the province, and regretted that saboteurs were targeting electricity transmission towers that badly affected all segments of society.

DECISION HAILED: The Unemployment Agriculture Graduate Engineers Action Committee has welcomed the announcement of Chief Minister Jam Yousuf about creation of hundreds of new posts for them in the province.
