HYDERABAD, Feb 1: The Sindhi Shagird Tehrik's central committee at a meeting held here on Monday decided to hold protest demonstrations and observe hunger strike at district headquarters of the province on Feb 13 against the reported abolition of quota of students from the interior of Sindh in educational institutions of Karachi.

The meeting criticized the abolition of the quota and decided to hold an educational conference in March to discuss the issue and other educational matters. Javed Rajpar presided over the meeting.

COMMUNICATION: Hyderabad City Council convener and Naib Nazim Abdul Qadeer Nagar has directed the taluka municipal administration to address a communication to the president about rehabilitation of affected people of the Pacca Qila, construction of a girls college in Bakra Mandi and release of arrears of the defunct Hyderabad municipal corporation and governor's and Hyderabad development packages.

He was giving a ruling on a call notice of council member Qari Niaz Ahmad at a meeting held here on Monday. The council adopted a resolution of Azhar Shaikh about the cable network calling for a ban on indecent programmes on different TV channels.
