KARACHI, Jan 31: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad received his Punjab counterpart Lt-Gen (r) Khalid Maqbool at the Governor's House here on Monday and discussed with him inter-provincial matters and issues of mutual interests, according to official sources.

Dr Ibad apprised him of the arrangements for the Expo 2005 and said that it would be a historic and significant international event which would have positive impact on the country's economic situation.

He pointed out that an environment conducive to investment was building up in Karachi amid increased activities in the economic sector. This, he added, was going to cast best effects on the country as a whole.

He said the Sindh government was taking every possible step with the cooperation of the concerned departments towards the holding of this event. He told Gen Khalid Maqbool that some 950 foreign delegates were participating in exhibition. - APP
