KARACHI, Jan 30: Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui has directed all Town Police Officers and SHOs that wedding halls and lawns would be responsible of any loss occurring due to aerial firing or fireworks used on such occasions as the practice was a crime and already prohibited.

He said that elements involved in aerial firing and using fireworks were supposed to be law violators and legal action should be taken against them. He observed that this practice did not only disturb the surrounding localities but incidents of injuries and fire break-out had also been noticed.

Complaints in this regard were constantly being received thus all wedding hall/lawns administrations were warned that they would be responsible for any loss occurring due to firing and fireworks.

The minister ordered that the directives should be strictly implemented and area locals or wedding halls/lawns administration should inform police and Madadgar-15 if they found anyone violating the orders so that legal action could be taken.

He appealed to the peaceful and responsible citizens to realize their responsibilities and must not subvert their ceremonies. -PPI
