KARACHI, Jan 28: The Judicial Magistrate, East, Mushteri Khanum, issued on Friday a show-cause notice to the investigation officer of the Asiya's rape and murder case for failing to submit the final charge-sheet (challan) against the accused.

The magistrate ordered SI Naeem to submit reply of the show-cause within three days. The investigation officer told the court that he had given the charge sheet to the deputy district attorney, who was on leave due to his illness.

Asiya, a maid, was brought to the Civil Hospital with fatal burns on Jan 9, and she died on Jan 23.She suffered severe burns at his employer's bungalow in CP Barar Society. Initially, she accused another servant, Amanat, of burning her, but later she involved Yaseen Bawani, the son of her employer.

Asiya also accused Yaseen Bawani of raping her several times during the past two months. She alleged that Yaseen again tried to rape her on Jan 9, but she resisted and slapped him.

BLAST CASE: An Anti-Terrorism Court in Karachi on Friday adjourned the hearing of a trial against an activist of Harkatul Mujahideen Al-Alami in petrol pump blast case, adds PPI.

"ATC Judge Aley Maqbool Rizvi fixed Feb 1 for the next hearing as the home department notified that trial against accused will be conducted in ATC instead of central jail Karachi," defence counsel Nadeem Shahzad Hashmi said.

Kamran alias Atif is charged with causing a bomb explosion at the Shell petrol pump in Azizabad on May 15, 2003. He was booked under Section 3,4 of Explosives Act.
