ISLAMABAD, Jan 19: Laws pertaining to cyber crimes are on the anvil keeping in view the increasing use of internet for e- commerce and provision of public services through the web.

This was stated by Federal Minister for Information Technology Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari at the national consultative workshop on E-Crimes Act 2005 held here on Wednesday.

The workshop was organized by the Pakistan Software Export Board and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications. Mr Khan said role of the ministry was to provide right environment in which the IT and telecom related businesses could flourish. Appropriate legislation is vital to address new and upcoming issues in this sector, he added.
