ISLAMABAD, Jan 19: Federal Minister for Industries, Production and Special Initiatives Jahangir Khan Tareen has said the government is fully committed to assisting the tsunami- affected countries in alleviating the consequences of the catastrophe.

The minister said this while presiding over the second meeting of the committee for the President's Relief Fund, held here on Wednesday. He asked various ministries to arrange proper programmes to raise funds for the tsunami victims.

The meeting noted with satisfaction that the people were generously donating towards the fund. The meeting was attended among others by Minister for Tourism G.G. Jamal and Parliamentary Secretary of the Cabinet Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan. -APP
