KARACHI, Jan 19: The Sindh home minister, Rauf Siddiqui, announced on Wednesday that section 144 shall come into force throughout the province during the three days of Eid-ul-Azha.

Section 144 and a code of ethics had been imposed in view of the law and order situation feared due to competition among various religious, non-religious, social and other organizations for collecting hides.

There shall be ban on display of arms, setting up camps, using loudspeakers, distribution of handbills etc he said. Mr Siddiqui said that only organizations, registered with the government, would be allowed to collect the hides after obtaining permission from respective DCOs.

He said the TPOs/ DPOs would be directly responsible for enforcing the code. He asked the general public to contact Madadgar-15 in case of any complaint. - PPI
