CHINIOT, May 28: As many as 1,000 bottles of liquor were recovered from a notorious drug-pusher, Chiniot police claimed on Tuesday.

ASP Asim Gulzar told newsmen that on a tip-off, a police party raided the outhouse of Zulfiqar alias Zulfi at Thatta Umra and unearthed a running distillery. A total of 1,000 bottles of liquor besides 7,000 litres of under process wine were recovered from there.

The ASP said that Zulfi had been manufacturing and supplying liquor throughout the country.

Later, the police raided nearby Thathian village and arrested 13 men and two women and recovered 765 grams of charas and 108 grams of heroin from them.

In another raid at Jahangir Galotran village, police recovered 100 stolen buffaloes.
