KARACHI, Jan 7: Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Friday dispelled impression about any difference within his government, and said that he enjoyed full confidence of his party and the coalition partners.

Talking to journalists after inaugurating the Sindh Sea Festival at Clifton Beach, the chief minister said that the people being referred to in such rumours, spread by certain quarters, would themselves contradict the reports of differences.

He described PML chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain's visit to the city as 'a routine tour'. "Chaudhry Shujaat is the PML President and Sindh is a part of Pakistan, so he can visit Sindh at his will,'' he added. Dr Arbab said that there had been no discussion on Kalabagh Dam project during the PML chief's visit.

TAISAR TOWN: A high-level meeting was held here on Friday under the chairmanship of Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim to determine the prices of the land allotted to the Malir Housing Authority for its Taisar Town project.

The chief minister directed the participants of the meeting to see that no residential project was started without proper planning and approve only those which offered all basic facilities. He told them to approve model residential schemes and make sure that they were away from industrial areas.

The meeting was informed that the government had allotted 10,000 acres of land to the Malir Housing Authority. After discussing various aspects of the project, the meeting fixed the price of the land at Rs500,000 per acre.

It also decided that the plots carved out in the housing project would be sold at reasonable prices, and a five-member committee was constituted for the purpose. The meeting was told that the price of Makiah village, Phase-I, would be deposited with the revenue department in three years.

The Taisar Town comprises plots of 80, 120, 240 and 400 square yards, and the facilities of roads, parks, mosques, schools, colleges, markets, stadium, etc., would be made available at the site. -PPI
