KARACHI: Seven bandits remanded

KARACHI, Jan 4: Justice Amir Hani Muslim of Sindh High Court who is also administrative judge of Anti-Terrorism Courts in Karachi on Tuesday remanded seven bandits to police custody till Jan 8 in a police encounter and explosive case.

Iftekhar, Khalilur Rehman, Sajjad Ahmed, Fareed, Mohammad Ali and Babar, stated to be the members of notorious Rehman Dakait gang, were produced before the court. The police had arrested them after a shootout in Kalakot area.

In the encounter, Shahnawaz alias Shani, a close associate of Rehman Dakait, was killed while Nazeer Balla, another accomplice of Rehman Dakait was injured. Nazeer was not produced before court due to his injuries and the police sought his remand.

Two policemen SHO Kalakot Shaukat Ali Shahani and head constable Manzoor Hasan had suffered bullet wounds. The accused were booked in Kalakot police station under section 353, 324, of PPC and section 3,4 of Explosive Substance Act with section 7 of Anti Terrorism Act. -PPI
