Mushaira focuses on uniform

KARACHI, Jan 2: Leading humour poets focussed on the uniform issue of President Pervez Musharraf at a mushaira organized by the Pakistan Telecommunication Company on Saturday night in a local hotel.

The mushaira was called "Mizah eleven". Prof Inayat Ali Khan Tonki's verses on the subject made the audience break into peals of uncontrollable laughter. His other verses on current affairs and social issues also won praise by the audience.

Another poet whose humorous poetry won great admiration by the audience was Athar Shah Khan Jedi. Khalid Masood from Multan had the audience split their sides with laughter.

Other poets who took part in the mushaira included Zahid Fakhri (Lahore), Dr Inamul Haq Javed (Islamabad), Sarfaraz Shahid (Islamabad), Ameerul Islam Hashmi, Rubina Tehseen, Haider Hasnain Jaleesi, Azra Sadiq and Anwar Masood (Lahore).
