KARACHI, Dec 30: City Nazim Niamatullah Khan on Thursday asked the officials concerned to work round-the-clock to complete the reconstruction of Jehangir Road on its scheduled time.

The Nazim who paid visit to Jehangir Road on Thursday, with the city government's works and services department's executive district officer, Shoaib Siddiqui and KWSB's managing director, Brig Iftikhar Haider, urged the officials to expedite the pace of work on the road.

He also advised the officials to ensure that flow of traffic is not disrupted on roads being reconstructed or carpeted and a plan in this connection be chalked out with the cooperation of traffic police. The Nazim's coordinator for works and services department, Abid Ilyas, was also present.

The flow of traffic on both Jehangir Road and on a portion of Business Recorder Road was being disrupted for the last one week as the CDGK has undertaken reconstruction of these roads, simultaneously. The worst kind of traffic jams are currently being faced on these two roads and also on main PIB Road and Nishtar Road.
