Hanif named pitch inspector

KARACHI, Dec 29: Former Pakistan captain and Member of PCB Advisory Panel Hanif Muhammad on Wednesday was appointed an independent pitch inspector of the board.

"Keeping his grand experience in pitch making we have given him this Big Task" PCB chairman Shaharyar M. Khan informed the reporters at a media briefing at National Stadium here.

"We are considering to prepare bouncy pitches and not bowlers friendly and gassy pitches" he remarked. Two four-day matches of QAT at National Stadium involving Karachi teams ended in two or just over two day on a grassy pitches. He said they are concentrating on preparing batsmen friendly bouncy tracks with more rolling which assist the spinners at the later stage. -APP
