KARACHI, Dec 28: The delay in announcement of results of various semesters of the Dawood College of Engineering and Technology (DCET) by the examinations department of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) is creating problems for DCET students.

According to details, the results of 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th semesters' exams of 1999-00, 2000-01 and 2001-02 batches of DCET have been delayed, while on top of that the examining body -- MUET -- has directed those failing to appear in the next exams to be held on Dec 31.

Interestingly, the MUET exam department has announced holding exams of 4th, 6th, and 8th semesters and the supplementary exams of 4th, and 6th semesters from Dec 31. But, neither has any exam schedule been issued, nor the results of previous candidates. "This is agonizing for us," said the students of DCET.

"We have been told that results of previous exams would be announced on Dec 29 and those failing will have just a single day for preparation for supplementary exams," said some concerned DCET students. They said owing to lack of coordination between DCET and the MUET exam departments, students would suffer. - PPI
