PESHAWAR, Dec 28: A court on Tuesday dismissed the bail petition of a man charged with abusing a five-year-old boy.

The court presided over by judicial magistrate Jamshed Khan Kundi observed that the petitioner, Hamid Khan, was charged with a heinous crime and keeping in view the evidence on record he was not entitled to bail.

The accused was arrested on Dec 13 after his pre-arrest bail petition was dismissed by additional district and sessions judge Mahmoodul Hassan. An FIR was registered against the accused at the Mathani police station under Section 377 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the victim's mother Rukhsana on Dec 4.

She stated that her son had gone out of his house for playing in the street when she found him crying outside the entrance with blood spots on his clothes. The boy was taken to the police station where he stated that he was taken away by the accused, who took off his trouser and hurt him.
