Tender for fuel oil

Published December 29, 2004

SINGAPORE, Dec 28: Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has issued an import tender for 330,000 tons of high-sulphur fuel oil for delivery between mid-January and March, industry sources said on Tuesday.

The tender had sought six cargoes, each 55,000 tons in size, of either 125-centistoke (cst) or 180-cst fuel oil with Conradson carbon residue of either 12 per cent or 16 per cent.

The first cargo is for Jan 23-25 delivery into the Port Qasim (FOTCO Jetty) on a cost-and-freight basis. Two other cargoes are for delivery in January and February to the same port. The other three cargoes are optional and for delivery in February and March.

The tender closes on Jan 6 and will remain valid till Jan 10. PSO cancelled its last tender to buy four cargoes totalling 220,000 tons for delivery between mid-November and January due to high offer prices.

PSO last bought seven cargoes totalling 385,000 tons, for delivery from October through December, from the United Arab Emirates' FAL Oil at a premium of $25.75-$26.00 a ton to the ME spot 180-cst quotes, C&F. -Reuters
