ISLAMABAD, Dec 24: The four-member special committee of the cabinet committee constituted under the directive of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz reviewed the quota of Balochistan in the federal services.

In this connection, the third meeting of the committee was held here on Friday, which was presided over by Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind.

The minister said the government was evolving a comprehensive strategy to eradicate unemployment and develop Balochistan at par with other provinces. Federal Minister Zubaida Jalal Minister of State Naseer Khan Mengal and Secretary Establishment Division are members of the committee whereas Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind is the chairman.

Senator Wali Muhammad Badin, Senator Sanaullah Baloch and Senator Mrs Kalsoom Perveen were specially invited to attend the meeting. The secretary submitted a list of those individuals working against the quota of Balochistan in various ministries, divisions attached departments, autonomous bodies and corporations.

The minister directed the additional secretary of establishment Division to prepare a list of those people working in Indus Rangers, Punjab Rangers, Federal Levies Coast Guards, Sindh Rangers, under the interior ministry as well as prepare a list of those working in financial institutions against the quota of Balochistan in the federal government.

He said yet another meeting to be held on January 10, 2005 in Islamabad would also review the representation of Balochistan in the interior ministry and other federal ministries and departments.
