ISLAMABAD, Dec 23: The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) chairman, Raja Zafarul Haq, has directed all the provincial chief organizers of the party to finalize the names of the members of the respective organizing committees as early as possible so that the party's reorganization can be completed within 45 days, a source told Dawn here on Thursday.

The source said the PML-N chairman issued these directives to the provincial chief organizers on telephone during an informal meeting of the party's central leaders at his office here on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by acting parliamentary leader of the party in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Tehmina Daultana, newly-appointed Secretary General Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Information Secretary Mohammad Siddiqul Farooque and in-charge of the PML-N office Raja Ashfaq Sarwar.

Mr Haq asked the chief organizers to give him the proposed names for the new organizing committees and office-bearers so that these could be sent to Nawaz Sharif for his final approval.

The source said in the meeting, the participants also discussed the proposal of setting up a think-tank to formulate the policies of the party on various issues and to monitor its implementation.

The PML-N leaders also reviewed the arrangements for the party's convention to be held in Peshawar on December 30 on the founding day of the party. Moreover, they also reviewed the arrangements for the December 25 function to mark the birth anniversaries of Quaid-i-Azam and party chief Nawaz Sharif.

The source said the PML-N leaders also discussed the prevailing political situation in the country particularly in the wake of reports that efforts were on for a national reconciliation between the government and the Pakistan People's Party (PPP).
