GUJRANWALA, Dec 23: A college girl who was gang-raped about 10 days ago was shot dead by the accused in Dhulley Model Town on Thursday. The 22-year-old 'S' daughter of Dr Rafiq was kidnapped by accused Mudassar, Akram and Siddiq , etc., when she was on her way home and was raped.

Police raided their hideout and recovered the girl but the accused managed to escape. Later, they got bail. Police said the girl was going to the district courts to record her statement along with her father when the accused opened fire on her and escaped after killing her instantly. Police have registered a case.

BOOKED: A case was registered on Thursday against five policemen, including two sub-inspectors, on the orders of sessions court on the charge of trespassing the premises of a citizen and beating the family.

Civil Lines SIs Zulfiqar Virk and Ehsanullah entered the house of Muhammad Iqbal along with three constables at the behest of his rival and beat up his family and damaged household articles. Mr Iqbal moved the court when police refused to register a case against accused.

MEDICAL FACILITIES: Provincial Labour and Manpower Minister Syed Akhter Hussain Rizvi on Thursday visited a social security hospital in Model Town and dispensaries in various parts of the city and reviewed the provision of medical facilities to patients.

The minister went to Workers Welfare Board schools for boys and girls in Gulshan Colony and People's Colony and urged the board administration to provide better facilities to students.
