Electoral rolls correction

ISLAMABAD, Dec 21: Chief Election Commissioner Justice Irshad Hasan Khan has said claims, objections and applications for correction/update of electoral rolls prepared for the local government elections in the year 2000-2001 shall not be received in bulk from any individual or political party.

He said every claim for the inclusion of a name in the electoral roll of an area shall be accompanied by an attested photocopy of the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) and in case the CNIC was not available, the applicant may submit attested copy of his old national identity card or passport.

He said every objection to an entry and every application for correction of particulars relating to an existing entry or entries shall be lodged with the registration officials in person. However, he said, women may file their claims, objections or applications either personally or through an authorised agent.
