Ponam's protest today

QUETTA, Dec 16: The Ponam students' alliance has announced to launch a protest movement against the arrests of students and activists of nationalist political parties and to observe Friday as a black day in Balochistan.

Speaking at a joint press conference on Wednesday, Baloch Students Organization secretary-general Mohinuddin Baloch, Pukhtunkhwa Students Organization secretary-general Mahmood Zalan and BSO (Asif group) secretary-general Javed Baloch said that rallies would also be held in Mastung and Loralai on Dec 20 and 28, respectively.

They said that the alliance in a meeting on Tuesday decided to counter, what they called, state-terrorism against nationalist parties and to mobilize public opinion against government's oppressive acts.

The student leaders alleged that law-enforcement agencies were using the Quetta bomb blast incident against the nationalist parties opposed to mega projects in the province.
