Faisal, Farrukh rescue KW

KARACHI, Dec 15: A fighting 158-run third wicket partnership between Muhammad Farrukh and Faisal Iqbal guided Karachi Whites out of trouble on the first day of their Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match against Multan at UBL Sports Complex ground on Wednesday.

KW lost two wickets for 25 to pacer Abdul Rauf but recovered to reach 222 for four wicket in their first innings. Rauf first trapped opener Khurram Manzoor for nine and had fellow-opener Agha Sabir for 12.

Faisal hit 11 boundaries in his 78 after batting for 202 minutes and Farrukh hit eight fours and a six in his 71 after occupying the crease for 272 minutes. At the close Zeeshan Pervez with 19 and Moin Khan with ten were at the crease.
