KARACHI, Dec 12: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has directed constitution of a "Fire Order" to help prevent instances of fire outbreaks and associated loss in the city and to ensure timely control of any possible inferno.

Taking notice of the fire outbreak at Olympia Textile Mills where inadequate availability of water on part of fire brigade to extinguish the same turned hundreds of cotton bales into ashes, the nazim asked for appropriate system to address such crucial problems.

Naimatullah Khan received details of the incident from a representative of local industrialists Zubair Motiwala, who informed him that the fire could not be brought under control by the fire engines due to non-availability of water.

On receiving the information the nazim immediately reached at the site. Along with Landhi Town Nazim, Naimatullah Khan made immediate arrangement for water and reviewed the efforts to control the situation.

He issued on the spot directives for calling an emergent meeting of the Karachi Fire Department during which he gave directives for introducing "Fire Order" under new local bodies regulations.
