PESHAWAR, Dec 8: Peshawar Electric Supply Corporation's Chief Executive Brig Tahir Saeed Malik held a meeting with District Nazim Abbottabad Col (retd) Ghulam Mustafa Jadoon , District Naib Nazim and Nazms of the Hazara Division, in the SE Hazara Circle office in Abbottabad.

Brig Malik informed the meeting that Pesco had launched mega developmental projects in the NWFP at a cost of Rs8 billion to overcome the problem of low voltage and to streamline the power supply system.

He said the bulk of the amount would be spent on these projects in the Hazara Division, adding the projects include installations of a 220KV Grid Station in Mansehra, a 220KV Tarbela-Mansehra Transmission Line and 220KV Sangjani-Mansehra Transmission Line.

This, he said, would bring about a revolution in the province and make the province prosperous in general and the Hazara Circle in particular. Special emphasis, he continued, was being laid on the improvement of system and for this purpose three new divisions and six sub-divisions were being created in the Hazara Circle.

He also told elected representatives about different steps taken by the present management to help consumers. They include setting up of a Customer Services Centre and one-window operation, he said.

He said he had arranged Rs10 million for the system improvement and completion of development schemes in Haripur to improve the entire network and distribution system of Pesco in the province.

The Pesco chief asked elected representatives to join hands with Pesco in its campaign for speedy recovery of outstanding loans and reduction in line losses. He requested Nazims and councillors to help the institution in overcoming power theft in the province. -APP
