ISLAMABAD, Dec 7: The federal government has convened an inter-provincial meeting here on Wednesday to review overall water situation in the country with specific focus on the projected drought-like situation for the next 15 years.

To be presided over by Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Ali Jatoi, the meeting would be attended by provincial irrigation ministers and secretaries, and representatives of Met Office and Indus River System Authority (IRSA).

Informed sources said the meeting would discuss the current water shortage in the country and the availability of water in dams for the rest of the season.
