PESHAWAR, Dec 7: Two police inspectors have been sacked for registering a bogus case against a person and spoiling a state case against the accused during judicial proceedings.

According to an official statement issued here on Tuesday, Provincial Police Officer IGP Riffat Pasha issued the termination order of Irshad Ali, Inspector in the Capital City Police, and Sarir Iqbal, Inspector in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The officials were charged with inefficiency and filing a bogus FIR against Mohammad Jehangir and spoiling the state's case against the accused. Inspector Irshad Ali had registered the case against Jehangir for possessing heroin on behalf of the victim's relatives, the statement said.

CID inspector Sarir Iqbal was charged with spoiling the state's case in the court, which benefited the accused arrested on the charges of heroin trafficking, it added.

The IGP also punished Inspector Zahir Shah for inefficiency and as punishment his two years' services would not be included in the official record. It said that all officials had been served show-cause notices and heard in person by an inquiry committees, before the action was taken against them.
