LAHORE, Dec 6: The PML-N will move a privilege motion in the National Assembly against MQM leader Altaf Husain for his remarks against the Pakistan ideology during his recent visit to India and in his address to a public meeting in Karachi.

This was announced by PML-N MNA Saad Rafiq and Imdad Chandio at a news conference here on Monday. PML-N leaders alleged that Altaf Husain's visit and utterances enjoyed the backing of the government, and thus it was also responsible for whatever had been stated by the MQM leader.

Mr Saad said that by speaking against the two-nation theory, the MQM leader had insulted the sacrifices of hundreds of thousands of Muslims who had migrated to Pakistan after partition.

He said the MQM leader should be asked by the powers that be how he had been meeting his expenses of a luxurious life in London for the past several years. He alleged the MQM was a tool of the establishment which participated in or abstained from the elections under instructions of its masters.

He said if the MQM leader was right in his assertion about his popularity, he should let the nation know why he did not take part in any election. As for Mr Husain's support to the peace process with India, the PML-N leaders said it was an attempt to snatch the credit from Nawaz Sharif who was the first leader to start the process. Also present at the news conference were Zaeem Husain Qadri and Nasir Iqbal Khan.
