GUJRAT, Dec 6: Electrical equipment worth Rs0.9 million has been stolen from the PSO's Chak Pirana oil depot. Depot in-charge Farooq Yazdani submitted an application to the Kharian Saddar police stating that power supply to the depot was suspended at about midnight some days ago.

The duty officer contacted the relevant Wapda office which sent a team the next day. The team, however, remained unable to restore electricity. Meanwhile, the Wapda authorities sent another team led by an engineer which found that the electric equipment installed inside the HT Panel was missing.

FIVE INJURED: A UC Nazim and four other people were shot at by some unidentified men in Noora Mandiala village, Jalalpur Jattan, on Sunday evening. Nazim Saifullah Sial was sitting along with his associates when four men appeared and tried to kidnap him.

They opened fire when Sial's companions came to his rescue. Sial, Afzal, Iqbal, Sanaullah and a woman sustained bullet injuries. They were taken to the DHQ Hospital. The motive behind the attack could not be ascertained.
