ISLAMABAD, Nov 28: Former president Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Mian Mohammad Azhar has said coming months are crucial in view of the country's future setup, adding the government should take political leaders into confidence for establishment of a representative government and national reconciliation in the country.

Talking to ex-party workers at his residence here on Sunday, Mr Azhar said political instability had weakened the country and there was an impending vacuum in the leadership of the nation. According to a statement, the Pakistan Muslim League leader expressed the apprehension that the present dispensation would not last long.

He proposed that a government comprising politicians enjoying good reputation and retired judges should be formed and free, fair and transparent elections be held under an independent election commission.

He also called for the accountability of those who had squandered the national wealth. Mr Azhar called upon the government to create congenial conditions for all political leaders, including Mian Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto, to play their role in national reconciliation.
