LANDI KOTAL, Nov 28: Nine people, including four Khasadars and a prisoner, were killed in a road accident on Saturday.

A four-member Khasadar party along with four relatives of a prisoner had gone to Dera Ismail Khan to bring Zarmat Khan in a van, whose release orders were issued by the political authorities two days back.

Zarmat Khan had spent four years in jail. On their way back home to Jamrud, their van collided head-on with a vehicle near Sarai Norang, which resulted in the death of all the nine people in the van.

Those killed in the accident were identified as naib-subedar Ismail Khan, havaldar Khana Gul, sepoy Kasheed Khan, sepoy Duniya Gul, van driver Tariq, prisoner Zarmat Khan, his relatives Saifullah, Millat Khan and Manzoor, all belonging to Jamrud tehsil. The bodies were brought to the Jamrud tehsil office on Sunday morning where they were handed over to their relatives for burial.
