PPP to review plans for rally

Published November 27, 2004

KARACHI, Nov 25: The executive committee of Sindh chapter of the PPP would meet on Sunday to discuss plans for its Dec 7 rally from Hyderabad to the metropolis to press for the release of all political prisoners and allowing Benazir Bhutto to return to the country.

The planned meeting would be chaired by the provincial president, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, at Qazi Asad Abid's residence in Hyderabad and would be participated in by MPAs and other strings of party leadership in the province, said a PPP spokesman.

The Hyderabad meeting would be crucial one as it would be taking place after party's founding day meeting on Nov 30 in Lahore. Great importance is being attached to that meeting in view of the release of Mr Asif Ali Zardari, with whom many active and dormant PPP leaders have met at Bilawal House. Not only that, some of those who had deserted the party at crucial moment were also trying to join the bands, sources said.
