SWABI: Funds for CCBs

SWABI, Nov 26: The Devolution Trust for Community Empowerment (DTCE) has allocated Rs12.32 million for Citizen Community Board (CCB) and the union council nazims would be allowed to utilize this fund for the welfare of the people.

This was stated by the DTCE member Adnan Khan while informing the district council members on the opening day of its three-day session on Friday. There are 56 union councils in the district and each union council would get Rs220,000.

He said from the same amount Rs40,000 would be given to each union council nazim and this fund would be spent by each union council nazim for creating awareness among the people about the vitality of the CCB and its positive role for the welfare of the society.

The council was informed that the CCB fund would be spent according to the planned strategy, calling for the whole community participation and awareness and people participation is very vital.

He said the CCB in each union council would get Rs180,000 for welfare activities. Each union council nazim would get Rs20,000 cheque on Dec 1 when the head of the National Reconstruction Bureau Danial Aziz would visit the district. All the union council nazims were asked to be present on that day.

The remaining amount for each union council would be given later on when all the requirements and formation of the CCB was completed. Each CCB in each union council would comprise 25 persons. It would be formed by consensus but the union council nazims would have to play a very positive role.
