KARACHI, Nov. 26: Headless body of a middle-aged man was found in a gunny bag in Shireen Jinnah Colony on Friday morning. Police said the body was found with its hands and legs tied , and it was stuffed in a gunny bag. The Boating Basin police removed the body to JPMC for post-mortem. Following completion of legal formalities, the body was shifted to Edhi morgue.

ROBBERY: The house of a well known classical dancer, Shima Kirmani, was burgled some time Thursday night. Police said Shima Kirmani left her Khayaban-i-Shaheen Phase-V residence for work on Thursday morning.

When she returned home in the night, she found locks of her home broken, and cash and jewellery, totalling about Rs 20 lakhs missing. According to the FIR (277/2004), jewellery, Indian currency worth Rs10,000, US$500 and 500 pounds and 40,000 local currency was found missing from the house.

The noted performer ruled out involvement of a couple residing in a nearby servant quarter, saying the couple is associated with the house since long, police said.

FIRING: Vehicle belonging to the nephew of a former chief of the CPLC was fired upon allegedly by the grandson of an influential politician of Sindh in DHA on Thursday evening.

Police said Mohammad Ali was going in his vehicle, with his driver in Khayaban-i-Mujahid DHA. A land cruiser (BC-2911) after over taking pulled up and two men came out of the vehicle.

They fired shots on the vehicle and fled. Mohammad Ali went to the Darakshan police station and lodged an FIR. Later, the police traced the number and picked up Furrukh and Pir Yaser.
