ISLAMABAD, Nov 23: Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education on Tuesday announced best teachers award at Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) levels.

Federal Education Minister Lt-Gen (retired) Javed Ashraf Qazi was chief guest on the occasion. A dinner was organized in the honour of 25 award winners. A cash prize of Rs20,000 was awarded along with a merit certificate to the teachers, who have shown excellent results in their respective subjects.

The minister lauded the board for first time taking this initiative and hoped that rest of the educational boards will follow the suit. "Though this is not a big amount, however, I personally believe that it will go a long way in motivating teachers all across the country", the minister opined.
