KARACHI: World Fisheries Day on Nov 21

KARACHI, Nov 17: The Pakistan Fisher folk Forum has planned to celebrate World Fisheries Day falling on Nov 21 holding different colourful cultural programmes. At least 50,000 participants representing the community and NGOs have been invited to attend the programme, PFF spokesman told PPI on Wednesday.

A large number of the fishing community people from 1,050km-long country coast is expected to participate. Several caravans from Thatta and Badin, including Shah Bandar, Keti Bandar, Kharochhan, Zero Point, Jatti will be received.

Similarly, community representatives from Pasni, Gwadar and Gadani will also participate. A big stage is being made at the seashore in Ibrahim Hyderi village for the day long event. Water and environment experts will give presentations on related issues at a seminar. -PPI
